Last Thursday the office sought a sunny respite at Tonic, a neighborhood pub. The thought of roof-top dining superseded any reservations about the notoriously sub-par food.

I enjoyed basking in the sun while sipping on this diet coke which, judging by my post-lunch jovial buzz, may have been accidently rum-spiked.

Tonic offers a lunch special of ten dollars for a variety of plates. Hot in Hurr selected the tomato mozzarella panini

The Historian selected the spicy chicken wrap

while I went with the Greek country salad.

Definite emphasis on the earlier mention of sub-par food. Basking in the glorious sun definitely made the food taste better(and trust me, we did a lot of sun basking given the immensely slow service), however.

It was nice to relax a bit since we all worked the past two weekends. Canisters of iced coffee from Stumptown also fortified us for the weekends!

Hope everyone is having a great week:)

Do you know if you have to be 21+ to eat dinner at Tonic East? I am going Saturday with some friends and one of them is under 21, and their website says nothing!!

Thank you!

Hey! I’m not sure if you have to be 21+ to eat there on a Saturday, but they definitely check cards religiously. I bet you can still eat if you’re under 21 as long as you don’t drink anything.
