Am interrupting the Alabama posts for a quick restaurant review!
Last week my good ‘ole friend Coco Chanel was visiting from California. He follows the paleolithic diet (and yes, I made fun of him endlessly about this), so we searched for a protein-heavy restaurant. Our quest brought us to Ditch Plains on the Upper West Side.
and fried pickles. Fried pickles are ALL the rage in NYC restaurants these days, so I was happy to finally sample them. These tasted quite good paired with the sangria and would make any pregnant lady happy.
I selected the seafood cobb salad, which came topped with shrimp and salmon. Unfortunately, the salmon was flecked in such small slivers that it was barely discernible. Great if you wear dentures, but so not for me.
Overall Ditch Plains was good, but not amazing. It’s worth visiting simply for the sprawling interior and beach-relaxed atmosphere. A section of the restaurant even has individual televisions per table, perfect for spectating sports games.
Hope everyone is having a great week! I have my final day of classes for my entire college career today. Kind of bittersweet.
